The population went from about 18,000 in 1980 to 47,043 in 2020, and the building followed it. That leaves three distinct groups of roofs. The 1957 onward Kendall Park ranches and split levels, long since reroofed at least once and often twice. The large 1980s and 1990s subdivisions, where original architectural shingles are now well past the age where they start giving up. And the old village houses around Kingston and Monmouth Junction, which are a different job entirely.
